WHAT WE DO
Fabrication Detailing
Working to information from the design team, we will create:
-
a fully connected 3D model
-
GA drawings for design team approval and site erection
-
fabrication assembly drawings
-
individual shaft drawings
-
lists for fittings, shafts and bolts.
We will liaise with the design team on your behalf; ironing out design flaws whilst keeping you informed throughout.
Estimate Models
Our estimate package consists of an accurate 3D model, with a list of associated main connections, weights and any comments or potential issues highlighted.
We can provide a very quick turnaround for estimates. The above image shows one of six buildings that were all completed within two days, totalling 263 tonnes, easily meeting our clients deadline.
Unusual Projects
We're always up for a challenge - if you can think it, we can draw it!
We have detailed the following:
-
BAE Systems Tempest Platform
-
Project Goliath Walkway
-
Leeds Cycle Point
-

GOLIATH:
The original design brief for Goliath was a control room with a compact access stair (seen above in blue) and a separate access stair to a high-level maintenance room. Due to lack of space, the second staircase was deemed non-viable and an alternative access solution had to be achieved. The yellow area shown above was our solution.
CYCLE POINT:
Situated right outside Leeds Train Station, the Cycle Point is a circular building with an internal radius ramp that is used to bring the bicycles up and down for customers.
BAE TEMPEST UK FUTURE FIGHTER PROGRAMME:
Our initial brief was for a basic viewing platform with a staircase at either end. The design parameters were quickly changed; the finished article could be transformed from a single to a double stair, with access to the cockpit from either side via a custom designed paired step that perfectly aligns with the body shape of the jet. We provided personal touches for BAE - the handrail splay matches the vertical stabiliser angle. Built in multi-media storage, hidden jacking points for uneven surfaces with soft ground spreader plates to suit the profile and colour of the jets air intake ports, and reversible stair treads were also detailed along with a storage plan for the 40ft long container that houses the platform on worldwide tours.

KOI POND:
Whilst this is not made using steel, it proves just how versatile we are as a company and what we can achieve using our draughting skills.
INDIVIOR:
Pharmaceutical plant, 142 tonnes of steel over two floors with three stair towers, internal guard railing, durbar flooring and provision for a blast wall. This future-proof design allowed for additional plant to be added with minimal disruption to factory operations.
